Scholarship Vision
Karen Healy was a deeply valued member of the Swinburne community whose leadership, generosity and forward‑thinking approach left a lasting impression on both colleagues and friends.
To honour Karen’s life and the values she championed, her family and friends have established the Karen Healy Scholarship to support exceptional women in engineering at Swinburne.
The scholarship enables students to expand their capabilities through the Bachelor of Applied Innovation and Design (Design Factory Melbourne), a program centred on creativity, collaboration and real‑world problem solving.
It is designed for students who:
· See creativity and engineering as deeply interconnected
· Are motivated to solve complex, real-world challenges
· Demonstrate curiosity, courage and a willingness to challenge convention.
In Karen’s spirit, the scholarship celebrates those who refuse to accept “this is how it has always been done” and instead seek to design a better future.
Your gift has an immediate and meaningful impact. Every contribution directly supports students — removing financial barriers and allowing them to focus on learning, creating and tackling real‑world challenges.
