Is my gift tax deductible?

All donations to Swinburne University of AUD$2 or more are tax deductible for Australian taxpayers. 

Will I receive a receipt for my gift?

Yes, you will receive a receipt.  If you have made a gift online, you will receive your receipt via email once your payment has been processed.  

What about monthly giving and receipts?

If you have chosen to make a recurring monthly gift, you will receive a combined annual receipt at the end of the financial year. 

I live outside Australia. Am I still able to donate?

I have lost the receipt I received for my donation – how can I get a copy?

Please call +61 3 9214 4409 or email giving@swinburne.edu.au and we will either email or post you a duplicate receipt.

I would like to set up a scholarship or an award – who can I talk to?

Do you accept gift-in-kind donations?

Can I pay by cheque and where should I send it?

Yes.  Please download and complete our mail-in form and send with cheque or money-order (payable to Swinburne University of Technology)  to:  

    University Advancement Office, H86
    Swinburne University of Technology 
    Reply Paid 218 (within Australia only) 
    PO Box 218, Hawthorn VIC 3122 

A receipt will be issued, usually within a week of processing the cheque. 

Note: A completed donation form must be attached along with the cheque. If you are unable to download the form, please send your contact details with the cheque and we will call you.

Can I directly deposit my donation to Swinburne’s account?

A gift transferred from your bank account directly into ours is often the easiest way to make a gift. Payments can be made electronically to:

Are my credit card or bank details safe if I give online?

We take the privacy of your information and financial security extremely seriously. The online donation form has electronic security measures to protect your credit card and other information.  

I am a regular donor to Swinburne University, and my credit card details have changed – how can I update my details?

You can telephone +61 3 9214 4409 and we will update the details on your behalf.

Please Note: Donors should not email their credit card details for privacy reasons.

I have changed my address and contact details – how do I update them?
