During her time at Swinburne, Jessie not only excelled academically but also embraced hands-on experiences to complement her studies. Undertaking a series of internships and two clerkships, she honed her legal skills and gained invaluable practical insights. Simultaneously, she held a part-time position at Lamplugh McIntosh from 2020 to 2021, where she further developed her legal, professional, and personal skills.

In 2021, Jessie's dedication and talent earned her a clerkship with Hall & Wilcox, a prestigious law firm. Her stellar performance led to her return to the firm as a paralegal at the end of 2021. Subsequently, she embarked on Hall & Wilcox's graduate program in 2022, settling into the Private Clients team by the program's end. Jessie's commitment extended beyond her professional duties, as she became actively involved in the firm's pro bono and community work, making a positive impact on society.

Not content with her already impressive contributions, Jessie took on a leadership role by playing a pivotal part in establishing the Law School Alumni Committee in 2022. The committee's inaugural event in late 2022 was a success, setting the stage for more exciting initiatives, including a forthcoming event on November 23, 2023. Looking ahead to 2024, Jessie and the committee aspire to strengthen the bond between students and alumni, facilitating mentoring relationships and aiding in job placement after graduation.

Jessie's dedication to Swinburne is further evident in her role as a member of the 2023 Swinburne Alumni Impact Awards selection panel. Her involvement not only highlights her commitment to recognizing excellence but also underscores her pride in being a Swinburne graduate. Looking forward, Jessie envisions creating greater awareness and respect for Swinburne graduates, a goal she is confident can be achieved with the collaborative efforts of the Law School Alumni Committee.

Jessie's story is an inspiration to current students and a testament to the transformative power of a Swinburne education. Her journey from a Swinburne law student to a successful professional and dedicated alumni exemplifies the university's commitment to fostering excellence, community engagement, and lifelong connections among its graduates.
