From Master of Design graduate to teacher at a university in Colombia, Jorge Huertas is changing lives through education.
After completing his Master of Design at Swinburne, Jorge Huertas returned to his hometown of Bogotá, Colombia, where he began his teaching career at several universities. Teaching became a meaningful way for Jorge to share the knowledge and experiences he gained in Australia, while also working as a consultant for companies around the world.
As his work progressed, Jorge recognised the limitations of his reach and impact. Motivated to extend his influence and democratise access to education, he launched a YouTube channel: Design Thinking 24/7. Today, it is the world’s leading YouTube channel dedicated to entrepreneurship, innovation, agile methodologies, and design thinking.
Design Thinking 24/7 has positioned Jorge as a global thought leader in these fields and led to his first TEDx talk, “Design Thinking: Simplifying Innovation.”
Jorge's course strengthened his critical thinking skills and allowed him to build a strong network of design professionals. Jorge believes knowledge is precious. He feels a responsibility to pass his knowledge on to the next generation and is proud to share what he learned at Swinburne. For Jorge, it all comes back to one core belief: “Knowledge is power.” And through sharing it, he is helping others transform lives — including their own.
