Accounting Futures Fund

Friday 28th Aug
Delivering the next generation of trusted, future-ready accountants.

Great accountants do far more than balance the books. They provide the financial measures and protections that let business flourish, hospitals treat patients, and not-for-profits care for the vulnerable — bringing trust and clarity to decisions that shape our communities.

As the Fourth Industrial Revolution reshapes how we all do business, the profession needs a new kind of leader: curious, ethical, entrepreneurial, and able to bring human insight to emerging technology and big data. These are exactly the skills Swinburne teaches. Our Faculty of Business and Law is accredited by the AACSB, placing it among the top 5% of business schools worldwide.

The Accounting Futures Fund is re-imagining accounting education to build a pipeline of career-ready, innovative graduates — in collaboration with business, industry and the community. Your gift helps open the door for talented students, whatever their means, and helps future-proof the accounting and finance workforce. After all, the greatest investment we can make is in those who will carry all the possibilities of tomorrow.

"As a proud Swinburne accounting alumnus, I want future generations to receive the same impetus to their careers that I was fortunate enough to experience." — Mark Korda, Swinburne Accounting Ambassador and co-founder, KordaMentha

The Accounting Futures Fund supports students, researchers and industry through three initiatives:

  • Accounting Futures Scholarships — supporting Bachelor of Accounting students, easing the financial stress that affects more than half of all students' study, so high achievers can pursue excellence while juggling work, study and life.

  • Beta Alpha Psi Chapter — Swinburne's chapter of the international honour society for accounting, finance and information systems, developing ethical, professional and confident leaders.

  • iiLab (Insights and Innovation Lab) — a state-of-the-art space where students, researchers and industry partners connect, work with real-world data and analytics, and prepare for the future of business.

You can also choose to fund a named prize, recognising an outstanding accounting student — a meaningful way to celebrate the next generation of trusted professionals.
